The Kankakee Valley Symphony Orchestra (KVSO) is pleased to announce the second concert of its 2024-2025 Season on Saturday, October 12 at 7:00 p.m. Dr. Sean Paul MILLS, the KVSO’s Artistic Director & Conductor, will lead the orchestra as it continues its 57th Season. The program features works by Camille SAINT-SAENS, Claude DEBUSSY, and Ludwig van BEETHOVEN. Joining the KVSO will be the KVSO Treble Chorus under the direction of Kyle SCHRAGE.
Taking Hans Christian ANDERSEN’s “Where words fail, Music speaks” as its inspiration this season, this program is titled “Music speaks of Life” and will feature the KVSO performing Camille SAINT-SAENS’ energetic “Bacchanale” (from the opera “Samson et Dalila), Claude DEBUSSY’s mesmerizing “Nocturnes” featuring the KVSO Treble Chorus, and Ludwig van BEETHOVEN’s reflective “Symphony No. 3 in E-flat Major – Eroica (Heroic).”
The KVSO will continue to offer its series of FREE pre-concert discussions this season. These will take place 45 minutes prior to each performance and provide audience members with an opportunity to learn more about the composers, selections, orchestra, and soloists as well as ask questions of and interact with Sean Paul MILLS and guest artists.
Tickets for KVSO concerts are available through the KVSO website at www.kvso.org and at the door beginning one (1) hour before each performance. Adults are $30 and Children are $5.
Please join us as we continue our 57th Season “Where words fail, Music speaks.”
