Native Prairie Trees: A Silver Anniversary Interpretive Prairie Program for Arbor Day
This Arbor Day, learn something new about native prairie trees! Which trees are the native prairie trees? Where can you see native prairie trees on the Midewin prairies? The Forest Preserve District of Will County will partner with us to provide a LIVE FEED from Midewin Prairie where a bur oak tree will be planted. The new bur oak tree will celebrate native prairie trees and 25 years of prairie restoration at Midewin National Tallgrass Prairie. The tree will be sponsored by the Midewin Alliance, the Will County Audubon Society and the Midewin Heritage Association. Midewin NTP Visitor Information Specialist Laura Lewis will present an interpretive webinar about native prairie trees.
