Solar Power Hour
Attention homeowners, farmers and small business owners! Come to the Ale House Pub, 135 N. Kinzie Ave., Bradley, IL on Thursday, Sept. 25th from 7-8 p.m. for a one of a kind FREE educational event on solar energy systems. Kankakee Community College and the Midwest Renewable Energy Association have partnered on a new solar purchase program, Power Pack Kankakee. Power Pack Kankakee is made possible with funding from the National Science Foundation, Illinois Green Economy Network and the Department of Labor. The Power Pack Kankakee program, supports regional manufacturers, builds a customer base for local solar installers, and makes it easier for customers to acquire solar for their homes or businesses. Power Pack Kankakee helps educate consumers on the benefits of solar energy and demonstrate that solar power has never been cheaper or easier to install than now. The program offers information on local solar installers using quality solar products from regional US manufacturers, delivering a lower solar-purchase cost to customers. Information on how to take advantage of The Rural Energy for America Program (REAP) will also be provided at this event. REAP provides financial assistance to agricultural producers and small businesses in rural America to purchase, install, and construct renewable energy systems and use renewable technologies that reduce energy consumption. Come to next Kankakee Power Hour at the Ale House Pub, 135 N. Kinzie Ave., Bradley, IL on Thursday, Sept. 25th from 7-8 p.m. and learn the basics of solar technology and solar economics, receive information about qualified local solar installers and equipment suppliers, and learn about available solar incentive programs for your home, farm or small business.
