Kick off summer with the annual Strawberry Jazz Festival 11 a.m.-4 p.m. June 7 at Gov. Small Memorial Park in Kankakee, 801 S. Eighth Ave., Kankakee. The event will be presented by the Community Arts Council of Kankakee County, the umbrella organization for area art groups. More than 90 fine arts and crafts vendors will show artwork ranging from paintings and stained glass to garden decorations. There also will be a vintage car show and continuous entertainment at four venues, featuring jazz bands, dancers, singers and a percussion and color guard group. Children's activities will include games, dime toss, face painting and a visit to a The Strawberry Jazz Festival will feature 90 fine arts and crafts vendors and continuous musical entertainment. There will be children's games, a baby contest and selection of a Strawberry Prince and Princess. Enjoy sandwiches and strawberry-themed foods.
