“Undiscovered Worlds” at Strickler Planetarium

On the campus of Olivet Nazarene University, Bourbonnais, Ill.

Each showing includes an interactive star talk about the night sky in the Kankakee area, a short tour of the universe with a view of our solar system, and a question-and-answer session.

Produced by the Museum of Science, Boston, this show includes data that the Kepler space telescope has transmitted since its launch in 2009. Kepler — NASA’s first mission capable of finding Earth-size planets around stars — has been watching more than 100,000 stars with the goal of observing exoplanets. The discovery of these planets, which began in 1999, is one of the most exciting frontiers in contemporary astronomy.
