The Kankakee County Museum will be hosting their 36th Annual Rhubarb Festival on Sunday, May 17th. This beloved FUNdraising event starts at 10 a.m. and goes until 4 p.m. 2026 festivities include: a wide variety of vendors, a dime toss, kids’ zone, pie-eating contest, live entertainment, tours of the Taylor One-Room Schoolhouse and historic Dr. Small home, and so much more! The Annual Kankakee Art League Show will also debut on this day. Rhubarb and strawberry-rhubarb whole pies and slices (provided by the Bennett-Curtis House) will be available for purchase as part of the museum’s fundraising efforts along with a variety of jams provided by Turtle Acres. Pies and jams can also be pre-ordered online through Kankakee County Museum’s website now through May 15th. The museum is currently accepting pie eating contest participants.
