Midewin National Tallgrass Prairie – Silver Anniversary – Time Capsule Installation - Virtual

For the Midewin National Tallgrass Prairie Silver Anniversary, a Time Capsule will be installed. Items in the time capsule will provide a sense of what life was like from 1996 to 2021. Volunteer length-of-service pins, prairie plant seeds, commemorative buttons and lapel pins and more will be placed in the Time Capsule, which will remain sealed until 2046. The stone fill used around the capsule below the dirt is crushed bunker concrete from the 811 bunker field.
