Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to work in our corporate office in Bradley, IL. This role is integral to ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our financial operations. The Bookkeeper will manage Accounts Receivable (AR), Accounts Payable (AP), monthly journal entries, Payroll, and other essential bookkeeping responsibilities while maintaining compliance with financial regulations and company policies.
Core Responsibilities:

  1. Accounts Receivable (AR):
  • Record, deposit, and reconcile all payments (EFT, credit card, check) accurately in the accounting system.
  • Reconcile various bank accounts and monitor receivables.
  • Prepare and send monthly statements; follow up on outstanding payments and resolve discrepancies.
  1. Accounts Payable (AP):
  • Process vendor invoices and reconcile with purchase orders.
  • Ensure timely and accurate vendor payments and maintain account updates.
  • Enter and reconcile credit card transactions.
  • Management of Certificates of Insurance and W-9 documentation for vendors.
  • Review utility bills to ensure usage aligns with historical patterns.
  1. Bookkeeping:
  • Perform weekly quality control checks on payables and receivables.
  • Record monthly journal entries and reconcile prepaid accounts.
  • Prepare monthly financial reports, including closing notes.
  • Provide analytical support to the leadership team.
  1. Payroll Processing:
  • Accurately prepare and process employee payroll.
  • Calculate and deduct taxes, benefits, and other required deductions.
  • Ensure compliance with all payroll regulations.
  • Maintain payroll records and resolve any payroll-related issues.
  1. Additional Responsibilities:
  • Assist with month-end and year-end financial close processes.
  • Collaborate with departments to ensure smooth financial workflows.
  • Maintain confidentiality of financial information and uphold company policies.
  • Prepare financial reports as required for management review.
 
Qualifications:
  • Proven experience as a bookkeeper with a strong understanding of GAAP principles.
  • Demonstrate expertise in Quickbooks, Excel, and financial reporting tools.
  • Possess excellent organizational skills and a high degree of accuracy.
  • Exhibit knowledge of payroll processes and regulatory compliance.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize effectively, and thrive in a dynamic environment.
  • Communicate and collaborate well with team members at all levels.
  • Proficient in modern productivity tools such as Slack, Asana, and Dropbox.

Compensation
  • Starting at a minimum of 24 hours per week with an hourly rate of $22-$24, based on experience and qualifications.
  • Potential for the position to transition into a full-time role as the needs of the company grow.
